KIZNA Launches as the First Global Platform Service Provider

Internet Server provides a one-stop solution for developers to create applications for collaboration, community, and commerce

NEW YORK - October 23, 2000 - Kizna Corp. (www.Kizna.com), a privately owned Internet start-up company with offices in Tokyo, New York City's Silicon Alley, Korea, and India, today launched its online platform service that will enable individuals and groups to send and receive, over the Internet and on any wireless device, real-time, shared messages and images.

How it Works

The term ASP or application service provider refers to the new wave of applications being deployed and maintained via the web to individuals and enterprises. The advantages are clear as costs decrease by outsourced applications. Kizna Corporation now takes this model to the next evolutionary phase - the PSP or Platform Service Provider, deploying the Kizna Server via the web to provide a communications platform for developers and enterprises seeking universal solutions for community, collaboration, and eCRM (electronic customer relationship management).

What It Will Do

The advantages for developers and enterprises is that Kizna PSP offers all of the advantages of the ASP model while dramatically reducing maintenance and integration costs. By adopting Kizna as a PSP for community, collaboration, and eCRM, customers can now pay one lower cost for a suite of integrated applications. According to Yoichi Miyazawa, CEO and co-founder of Kizna, "a simple analogy would be that the ASP model charges users by the second what Kizna now charges by the minute. This revolutionary offering represents the next evolutionary phase in harnessing the powerful communication medium of the Internet."

How it Works

The Kizna Server is a Java2-based servlet program working on all types of Java-enabled operating systems, while the Kizna-client is a Java1 based applet or an application. With Kizna, Java developers can create original applications that are truly platform independent and device independent. Miyazawa further notes that "whether the application is a solution for wireless broadcasts, or delivering a Powerpoint presentation via the web; users now have a solution that is highly secure and can also be accessed with any network or firewall configuration, while not having to worry about any plug-in downloads or additional software installations." Kizna Corp. has filed a patent on its unique technology, business model, and will launch its web-based service on October 17, 2000 at http://www.Kizna.com.
